Dains Scotland brings together the former William Duncan, Condies and Consilium firms into a single business comprising 200 staff and combined revenues in excess of £15 million. The business provides a range of services to the Scottish SME market including Audit, Accounts & Advisory, Tax Compliance and Advisory, Payroll, Corporate Finance and Business Recovery. We are establishing an integrated Scottish Audit team comprising over 30 partners, directors and staff.
As part of the expansion of the Audit business we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious semi-senior to join an existing team. As an Audit Supervisor you will be responsible for completing audit and accounting tasks as delegated by and under the general direction of the appropriate members of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the administration of a small portfolio of clients.
- Develop and maintain positive commercial relationships with clients.
- Provide liaison between the Partner, Director or Manager and the client.
- Identify problems or weaknesses in the client’s operations and recommend appropriate action.
- Oversee the process and help prepare, review and discuss staff individual job appraisal reports.
- Help motivate Audit staff and improve communication and team relationships.
- Deliver regular training workshops and on-the-job training for Audit team members.
- Maintain regular dialogue with all Audit team members to update management team on progress.
- Review, improve and control all Audit assignment documentation.
- Review the Audit file at manager’s request and ensure it is complete.
- Keep management team adequately informed of progress on assignments.
- Carry out responsibilities of an Audit Senior when required.
- Complete and/or oversee multiple Audit assignments at any one time.
- Carry out basic Audit client and third-party correspondence.
- Be aware of the latest technical developments through reading and attendance of courses.
- Provide ad hoc support to other members of the Audit Department as required.
- Education: Actively progressing towards a professional qualification such as the CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Leadership and Teamwork Skills: Strong teamwork qualities and ability to build strong relationships.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills to convey information clearly.
- Adaptability and Innovative Thinking: Ability to adapt to changes and think creatively.
- Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of the accounting industry’s standards and best practices.
