As a Bookkeeping and VAT Assistant, you will work alongside a team of experienced and supportive professionals who will guide and develop you in a collaborative and professional environment. You will gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio across a range of sectors, supporting with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and VAT compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of book-keeping and VAT clients, sending information requests and chasers.
- Regular contact with your clients to build relationships.
- Preparation of book-keeping and VAT returns for your clients.
- Assistance with ad-hoc client queries supporting the client managers.
- Occasionally carry out visits to client’s premises to extract necessary information to prepare VAT returns for review by VAT manager.
- At times, support the wider team with preparation of the year end accounts for your client.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Ability to use/learn accounting software and systems operated by clients as appropriate (e.g. Xero, Sage, Quickbooks etc).
- Strong basic accounting knowledge is required.
- To have a good understanding of relevant Microsoft Office software, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and any other packages relevant to the role.
- You may from time to time be required to attend courses (internal and external) to aid you in the capacity to fulfil your role.
