Overview
Transactional Finance Manager at Dains Accountants & Advisers. Lead and develop the transactional finance teams covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, and Expenses. Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing across transactional areas while driving process improvements and maintaining robust internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams across AP, AR, Banking, and Expenses, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee day-to-day transactional processing to ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and deadlines.
- Manage cash flow forecasts, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related activities in coordination with the wider finance team.
- Monitor the AR aging report and proactively drive collections to improve cash flow.
- Ensure timely invoicing, accurate allocation of customer payments, and prompt follow-up on outstanding debts.
- Monitor KPIs and service levels, providing regular reporting and analysis to senior management.
- Ensure proper training and development of team members, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying development opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to resolve queries and drive effective financial operations.
- Control and oversee journal processing in the finance system by monitoring GL journal entries, validating accuracy, maintaining appropriate documentation, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee daily cash management, ensuring bank reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report on cash balances and prepare short-term cash flow forecasts.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy finance environment
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing transactional teams
- Solid understanding of end-to-end AP, AR, banking, and expense processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with multiple ERP systems is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business
