Audit Director/Partner in Birmingham

The Dains Group is continuing its ambitious growth journey and as part of this expansion, we are seeking an exceptional Audit Director or Partner to join our Birmingham office.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior audit professional to take ownership of a significant client portfolio, lead the delivery of high-quality audit services, drive business development initiatives and play a key role in shaping the future growth of our audit practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors, including commercial, not-for-profit and third sector, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, providing commercial and strategic insight.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value and expand services.
• Leading, coaching and developing Audit Managers and wider team members.
• Taking responsibility for audit quality, risk management and compliance with professional standards.
• Supporting business development activities, including networking, tenders and proposals.
• Working collaboratively with teams across the wider business to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the Audit service line.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Hold your RI status or working towards gaining.
• Significant experience operating at Senior Manager, Director or equivalent level within practice.
• Extensive audit and assurance experience across a varied client portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Proven ability to build and maintain successful client relationships.
• Experience managing, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
• A commercial mindset with a desire to contribute to business growth.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
