YOUMAKEUS

As part of our great team here at DTFS, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Customer Credit Risk Manager. We're looking for someone to lead the Customer Credit Risk function by setting and maintaining effective credit risk assessment, underwriting, reporting, compliance and portfolio management standards across the Daimler Truck & Bus funding portfolio. This role is perfect if you'd like to be accountable for ensuring lending decisions, policies, products, processes and systems operate within local and global risk appetite, legal and regulatory requirements, while enabling commercially balanced decisions, minimising credit losses, supporting audit readiness and developing the capability of the Customer Credit Team.

The role also supports key customer relationships by attending strategic customer meetings where credit risk input is required, providing clear risk guidance, and helping to build constructive relationships that support informed lending decisions and effective portfolio management.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Senior Management reporting and risk insight: Provide clear portfolio, customer and sector risk reporting to Senior Management, identifying adverse trends, recommending controls and supporting timely decisions that protect the business from avoidable credit losses, leading the evolution of the function to deliver practices that support portfolio growth, enhance the customer experience and our operational efficiency.
  • Collections, Remarketing and distressed account management: Contribute as part of the wider leadership team to work-out situations, business failures and high-risk exposures by providing credit risk input, supporting agreed recovery strategies, and helping ensure actions are implemented in line with approved risk management procedures.
  • People leadership and capability development: Lead, motivate and develop the direct team, setting priorities, supporting performance, building succession capability and enabling Credit Specialists and Analysts to progress into future risk roles, or other development opportunities.
  • Stakeholder influence and service improvement: Influence internal and external stakeholders to improve systems, processes, products, account management, service quality, funding response times and reporting outputs across Daimler Truck & Bus. Identify and lead innovative opportunities to enhance the Credit Risk operating model through improved system functionality, workflow automation, data quality, digital reporting and appropriate use of AI-enabled tools, ensuring changes are controlled, compliant and deliver measurable improvements in decision speed, consistency, risk insight and customer service.

Main Operational Responsibilities

  • Credit policy, compliance and audit readiness: Design, maintain and document local credit risk processes and manuals, ensuring ongoing compliance with local and HQ global lending policies, audit expectations and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Underwriting standards and decision quality: Maintain and develop underwriting standards so lending applications are assessed through the appropriate local and HQ approval streams, within agreed service levels and in line with risk appetite and commercial requirements.
  • Security, legal documentation and conditions of sanction: Ensure relevant legal and security documentation is in place, perfected where required, and that all lending terms, conditions and sanctions are monitored and adhered to.
  • Performance management and continuous improvement: Ensure key underwriting and portfolio performance measures, including volumes, market sector, origination quality and turnaround times, are measurable, reported and used to drive continuous improvement.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU

  • Competitive salary and a discretionary bonus structure.
  • Join our pension scheme.
  • Private medical insurance.
