How you’ll play your part
We’re looking for someone who is agile and a team player, who understands complex data environments of analytics platforms and can bring their solid experience in end‑to‑end data solutions. In this role you will design, operate, and continually improve secure, reliable, and automated data pipelines and platform components that enable scalable analytics, AI‑ready data, and data‑driven operations across MBUK.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and automate end‑to‑end data pipelines in Azure, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient ingestion, transformation, delivery, and documentation.
- Continuously optimise pipelines and integrations, improving speed, scalability, and reliability, including the use of AI‑driven automation.
- Deliver high‑quality datasets and data models (DWH, Lakehouse) that power analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance daily data operations, resolving issues quickly and proactively strengthening resilience.
- Improve performance and observability, optimising data flows and enhancing monitoring, alerting, and automated preventative rules.
- Support data governance and compliance, ensuring data quality, lineage, archiving, masking, encryption, and automated controls.
- Contribute to platform‑level enhancements, improving CI/CD, orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring for scalable, AI‑ready foundations.
- Advance the MBUK data strategy, exploring new technologies and automation opportunities.
What experience and knowledge you’ll bring
- Designs and delivers cloud‑native or on‑prem data solutions.
- Leads and coordinates AI/ML initiatives, including identifying LLM use cases and integrating them into business and data workflows.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills, writing highly optimised queries across large datasets to create AI‑ready data.
- Collaborative team player and confident independent contributor.
- Proactive, taking ownership to deliver practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of technical ecosystems, including data integration patterns and system architecture fundamentals.
- Clear, confident communicator across all audiences.
- Analytical, accurate, and skilled in solving complex problems.
- Hands‑on experience with data integration and transformation tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks).
- Transforms complex analysis into clear, actionable insights.
- Experienced in Agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
