Placement Details: Industrial Placements are only applicable for university students and will be a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, commencing summer 2026 and ending summer 2027.

Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out varied tasks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data and undertake a number of reconciliations related to the company accounts to ensure statutory and company month‑end reporting deadlines are met.

  • Assist in daily Treasury proceedings using Bloomberg software and provide economic explanations to non‑Finance staff regarding the economic market trends.
  • Provide support in the delivery of daily business report summaries to various staff from different departments.
  • Responsible for the completion of external surveys for the Office for National Statistics, the Bank of England and the FLA within tight time frames.
  • Assist in month‑end activities, including raising journals and running operating expenditure reports for all departments within MBFS.
  • Responsible for invoicing partner companies for subsidy payments.
  • Supporting with account reconciliations for different individuals within the Finance department.
  • Undertake ad‑hoc tasks/analysis as requested from management or the team including project work depending on priorities during the year.
  • Attend and support preparation for meetings with senior Directors.

Qualifications: Good knowledge of Excel. Good knowledge of SAP (training will be provided). Ability to work under pressure and achieve results while promoting company behavioural values. Flexible and able to multi‑task to meet specified deadlines. A strong team player with the ability to learn tasks quickly and make appropriate decisions. Possess analytical, investigative and strong reconciliation skills. Good time‑management skills, with own responsibility for planning and prioritising workload. Effective communicator to Finance and non‑Finance staff of all levels.
