The Role: You’ll work alongside a supportive, high-impact team of skilled backend developers to improve how other teams deploy and access their services, how we move data across our platform, and how we automate operations to enable future scale. Our backend engineering teams specialise in developing robust and scalable Go Microservices, leveraging a tech stack that includes AWS, Docker, Postgres, and Kafka. We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about building high-quality solutions and who thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

How You Will Make an Impact:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Contribute to the transition to microservices, designing APIs and event-driven architecture
- Optimise database performance and data structures for high-traffic, real-time applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs
- Mentor engineers, perform code-reviews and drive best practices in Golang
What You Bring to The Team:
- 2+ years' of experience developing applications and their deployment mechanisms, including testing, scaling, and monitoring.
- Demonstrated proficiency writing maintainable, high quality, robust code. Preferred but not limited to; Go, Java, C++.
- Some familiarity with Infrastructure like Databases, API Layers, Load Balancers, etc.
- A critical eye, a curious nature, and a voracious appetite to learn.
Nice to Haves:
- Understanding of Agile or Kanban / Lean software development methodologies.
- Experience specifically with Go.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, cloud formation, terraform, etc.
- Experience in apps using Kafka or other event stream/message broker platforms.
