We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take the lead on the day-to-day delivery of a Β£5 million hotel refurbishment project based in Battle, East Sussex. This is a key role overseeing site operations and ensuring the successful execution of a high-profile scheme, reporting directly to the Project Manager.
The Role:
As Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the site, managing all on-site activities and subcontractors, maintaining programme and quality standards, and upholding strict health and safety protocols. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring strong coordination and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily site operations and ensure the project is delivered to programme and quality standards
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, labour and materials on-site
- Maintain and enforce health & safety compliance at all times
- Liaise with the Project Manager on progress, risks, and key site updates
- Ensure site documentation and reporting is maintained accurately
- Manage site logistics and ensure an organised, tidy and compliant working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering refurbishment or fit-out projects as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and coordination
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid qualifications essential
- Previous experience on hotel, leisure or high-spec commercial refurbishments preferred
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to drive programme and maintain high quality standards under pressure
