The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are looking for a Senior Social Video Producer to help lead social video coverage for a major Reach national brand, owning end-to-end creation, optimisation and distribution of high‑impact, social‑first video content.
Reporting directly to the Producer, you will source, shoot and edit compelling original and UGC footage, adapt longer-form content for social, record engaging voiceovers, and ensure every video is optimised for maximum engagement using social analytics to inform strategy.
This role is home & hub linked to our Canary Wharf hub, so you must be located in or around London.
You will be covering a Sunday – Saturday rota between 6am – 11pm, so flexibility is key.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Ensure that every video is optimised to drive the highest levels of engagement.
- Successfully use social media analytics tools, putting your findings into a strategy for future content.
- Monitor trends on each platform and wider industry developments to maximise social video performance
- Stay up to date on the activity of our competitors to ensure we are ahead of the curve, as well as with changes that the social media companies make, so that we can review and implement any necessary strategy changes at the required pace.
- Source and edit high quality UGC and social-first videos aligned to brand vision and editorial direction.
- Support editing longer-form videos into social formats.
- Understand what content engages best on each of the different social media platforms.
- Comfortable recording powerful and engaging voiceovers for quick-turnaround video content.
- Ability to break news faster than other publications by using video on social media.
- Support teams to deliver a large volume of fast-turnaround video outputs onto relevant social channels.
- Capable of shooting original video outside of the office to a high standard when needed on either a phone or DSLR camera.
- Responsible, alongside other editorial colleagues, for uploading and distributing video content.
- Ensure video adheres to editorial guidelines and legal/copyright standards.
Skills and behaviours:
- A clear leader of newsroom social video coverage who frequently pitches exciting and dynamic ideas which accelerate the brand\’s positioning and is confident to challenge and educate others on the best use of video.
- Highly skilled on Premiere Pro or an equivalent editing programme.
- Advanced knowledge of social media platforms. This mainly includes Facebook but also includes TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and X.
- Focused on shaping original content to meet relevant audio-video KPIs.
- Adaptable; keeps pace with rapidly evolving tech landscapes. Able to adapt to the requirements of the business.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications and experience:
- NCTJ/BTCJ qualification is preferred but not a necessity.
- An already established relationship with social media companies would be desired.
- Proven experience using a wide range of social media analytics tools, adapting successful strategies using performance data.
- Experience in editing short, social friendly videos in a fast paced news environment.
- Proven track record of increasing social media revenue streams.
- Proven experience at creating social media content that has excellent engagement.
- Proven track record of working in a breaking news environment is essential, as well as a strong knowledge of media law.
