DailyMail, the world’s largest English-language newspaper website with over 220 million unique monthly visitors globally, is looking for a talented Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading social team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all DailyMail social feeds and channels.
- Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors.
- Cover live events, TV shows and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms.
- Creating captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our 22 million Facebook audience.
- An eye for identifying new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the DailyMail brand.
- Working across a seven-day rota and covering live-events as they happen.
- Monitoring article traffic using social media analysis tools and reporting back to the wider team.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable.
- Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics.
- Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop.
- Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, Whatsapp and other websites.
- Must be able to come to the office four to five days per week.
