The dmg::media Pictures team and Sport desk are looking for a talented Assistant Sports Picture Editor to join our London bureau. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of all sports and experience in creating graphics, editing picture content and coordinating picture coverage in a fast‐paced 24‐hour digital news environment. Must be flexible regarding shifts (including regular weekends and nights around live sport).
Requirements- Experience in creating graphics, and editing and sourcing picture content for a newspaper or online news operation
- Ability to work within stringent deadlines with the focus on sourcing, editing and packaging picture content to the highest standard
- Excellent knowledge of sports including football, boxing, Formula One, rugby, cricket and tennis
- Confidence in negotiating exclusives and managing agency relationships
- Experience in Photoshop
- Good technical knowledge of picture management and web publishing systems
- Background in news and showbusiness picture content is desirable
- Understanding of legal covenants such as the UK Editors' Code of Practice, media law and editorial guidelines
