Position: Permanent/Hybrid - This role will work mainly 2pm-11pm UK time.

Daily Mail is looking for a talented Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading social team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all Daily Mail social feeds and channels.
  • Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors.
  • Cover live events, TV shows and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms.
  • Creating captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our 22 million Facebook audience.
  • An eye for identifying new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the Daily Mail brand.
  • Working across a seven-day rota and covering live-events as they happen.
  • Monitoring article traffic using social media analysis tools and reporting back to the wider team.
Person Specification
  • Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable.
  • Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics.
  • Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop.
  • Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, WhatsApp and other websites.
