Daikin Applied is seeking a Controls Application Engineer III who will provide technical expertise on controls products to sales representatives in the selection and application of business unit products to fulfil specific commercial controls products. This role provides strategies on how to position the product to effectively compete in the marketplace. The Application Engineer will interact with customers to effectively demonstrate the value of company product lines. In addition, they will work with Product Managers to develop and customize software, and evaluate new technology for future products. What you will do:

  • Provide prompt, accurate support to sales representative inquiries regarding special applications, systems or pricing
  • Process requests for modifications or options and other general information not covered by published pricing
  • Stay informed on new products and competitive models in the marketplace
  • Communicate suggested modifications to the company's products/services to meet customer requirements
  • Communicate and provide feedback to product management for product services requirements not met by current product line
  • May write or provide input to assist in preparing technical literature for internal and field application
  • Participate in product training of sales representatives and customers
  • Customize and develop software for current product line
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent technical degree and years of experience
  • 5+ years of building controls experience, or related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Familiarity with Electrical components, software, and coding
  • Niagara certification
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Niagara 4 certification
  • Experience with Niagara licensing
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and Building Automation Systems
  • Familiarity with building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,400k - $147,400K + 10% bonus. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
