Summary
The Controls Engineer is responsible for the development of controls, technical support to the factory and market application to suit customer requirements in all HVAC markets. They will report to the Engineering and Controls Manager and give support to other Controls Engineers and Production Electricians where necessary.
Main Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the Controls Engineer will include but not be limited to:
- Provides support to the whole sales network in the UK through costing software.
- Works with and supports the factory in the development of AHU controls.
- Assists the Sales Team by preparing controls quotations and technical submissions.
- Investigates and pursues controls development, to assist in cost reduction and to stay current with continued technological advances.
- Prepares and issues production packages including wiring schedules and location drawings.
- Provides training in controls application to service organisation and sales team.
- Troubleshoots control problems and issues to produce solutions.
- Participates in meetings or direct communications with customers or field sales offices to assist in resolution of problems or complaints.
- Maintains a teamwork philosophy with other departments to facilitate problem solving and provide good customer service.
- Member of a team responsible for the harmonisation of the open protocol capabilities of all Daikin Applied products, including AHU, chiller, on-site monitoring and DX integration.
- Adheres to Company policy for Quality Assured service standards.
- Adheres to Company policy for Health & Safety standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Electrical / Electronic / Automation (HNC / Degree level) Technical knowledge.
- Experience within HVAC controls & products.
- AutoCAD fundamental knowledge β desirable.
- IT Literate β Confident user in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of interfacing to ancillary equipment.
