Purpose of the function
LOCATION: Uxbridge, UK. This position has a key function in delivering operational excellence and strengthening the procurement shared service operating model, whilst leading some tactical and strategic initiatives to support the ongoing procurement transformation. Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Purchase Orders.
- Proactively manage operational procurement activities to ensure procurement processes are performed efficiently and effectively in compliance with policies.
- Liaise with lead buyers for timely performance of sourcing activities (spend >50 kEur).
- Assure that sourcing activities have been performed as per internal regulations (i.e. compliance checklist) and any gaps are resolved.
- Train organization under ownership on procurement policy and processes.
- Participate in the execution of procurement monitoring activities.
- Minimise the use of exceptions and gain proper approvals when exceptions are required.
- Collaborate closely with the local Finance and Compliance/Legal teams to ensure key compliance KPIs and quarterly control metrics are monitored and controlled and that back office hand-offs between functions work optimally.
- Support the wider procurement shared services team as required.
- Take active part in standardization and harmonization of processes and systems to ensure operations in procurement remain effective and efficient.
- Contribute to Procurement's success with regards to savings, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation and/or fulfilment of defined KPI's (e.g., ROSMA).
- Conduct all activities in accordance with DSE policies and procedures as well as all relevant external regulations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree combined with a recognised professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS or equivalent).
- 2 - 5 years working experience in Procurement.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Required Knowledge of Procurement Suites, Microsoft Office, SAP MM, eSourcing.
