DAI Global UK is looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst, Associate Commercial Specialist, or Commercial Specialist to join our Commercial team. The roles sit within the same job family and share a common focus on supporting pricing, commercial decision-making, and risk assessment across bids and live projects. The level of responsibility and autonomy will vary depending on the role, with Commercial Specialist being the most senior, followed by Associate Commercial Specialist and then Senior Commercial Analyst. All roles will report to the Senior Director Operations (who heads the commercial performance centre).

You will work closely with business development and project management colleagues to provide analytical and commercial support on pricing and commercial decisions. This will include contributing to risk assessments and pricing models, supporting or conducting quality assurance reviews of pricing models, and providing research and analysis to inform bids and project delivery.

At Commercial Specialist level, you will bring greater experience and commercial judgement, taking a more senior role in developing pricing approaches, advising teams, reviewing pricing models, and supporting improvements to tools, processes, and team capability. At Associate Commercial Specialist and Senior Commercial Analyst levels, you will provide analytical and research support to bids and project teams. You will contribute to pricing models, risk assessments, and quality assurance reviews, with responsibilities reflecting your level of experience and seniority.

This is a full-time permanent position. This position requires the ability to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship. Hybrid: 3 days per week in our London office.

Responsibilities (Commercial Specialist)

  • Analyse market trends and competitor pricing strategies to inform bid pricing and commercial decisions.
  • Provide advice on commercial considerations to bid teams, including risk assessments, pricing models, and financial implications.
  • Develop routine and complex pricing models for bids.
  • Contribute to the development of commercial strategies for bids, demonstrating an understanding of the incentives from scoring criteria and cost eligibility guidelines.
  • Conduct QA reviews of pricing models and bid pro formas to verify accuracy, compliance and feasibility, while maintaining high standards in all financial deliverables.
  • Contribute to capacity building efforts within the Commercial team and with business development and project management teams.
  • Support project management teams with ongoing commercial matters including budgets and margins, offering insights when preparing budgets for new project phases.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of commercial risks associated with bids and ongoing projects, including providing analysis to support negotiations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in commercial management and bid pricing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities (Associate Commercial Specialist, Senior Commercial Analyst)

  • Analyse market trends and competitor pricing strategies to inform bid pricing and commercial decisions.
  • Identify and support the implementation of process improvements in commercial management and bid pricing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the development of pricing models and commercial strategy for bids, developing an understanding of the incentives from scoring criteria and cost eligibility guidelines.
  • Conduct QA reviews of pricing models and bid pro formas to ensure accuracy, compliance and feasibility.
  • Support the upkeep and development of modeling and analysis tools used to develop budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Apply best practices in developing project management systems, with an understanding of risk mitigation, procurement processes, and performance tracking.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement project management tools and processes; develop clear communications and reference materials for colleagues.
  • Support the configuration and oversight of project field systems, ensuring alignment with DAI standards.
  • Under the guidance of the Sr Director - Commercial and working directly with project owners, research and create solutions from project management tools within the suite of available budgeted tools and software.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant professional experience and degree in a related field such as Economics, Maths, Finance, or Business Administration. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated prior commercial experience in developing or managing budgets. (Required for Commercial Specialist)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced Excel skills.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Able to work as part of a decentralized team with minimal oversight.
  • Able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external clients, and tailor communication style to diverse audiences.
  • Able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization and external clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able and willing to adjust work schedule, as needed, to support teams located in different time zones/countries.
  • Able and willing to travel to any country where DAI currently operates, or may wish to operate, barring times when DAI Global Security has deemed travel unsafe.
