We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Designer with the skill and mindset of an engineer — someone who can take a concept sketch and translate it into a fully specified, manufacturable solution down to the very last bolt. Working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll be the technical backbone of retail design projects, transforming creative concepts into engineered reality. This is a role for a meticulous problem-solver who understands the nuances of manufacturing across wood, metal, and plastics — and who thrives on making things actually work in the real world.

Day to day:

  • Turning visuals into SolidWorks 3D models and production-ready drawings
  • Engineering every detail of the design, from material choice to fixings
  • Managing prototypes, first-offs, and build reviews — UK and overseas
  • Collaborating with buyers and manufacturers to align design with production
  • Creating technical documentation: BOMs, assembly guides, QC reports

Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of metal, plastic, and wood fabrication
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and hands-on manufacturing understanding
  • Background in POP/retail fixture design or product design engineering
  • Excellent sketching, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • A proactive, detail-driven approach and confidence to own your work

If you’re the kind of designer who thinks like an engineer — and loves seeing your work out in the world — we’d love to hear from you.
