Dahlia Recruitment - Renewables is working with a rapidly growing Renewable Energy Software business to recruit for a Senior Sales Executive to take full ownership of the deal-closing motion across the sales pipeline. This is a senior, revenue-facing role for someone who thrives in the later stages of the sales cycle β negotiating terms, overcoming last-mile objections, and converting qualified opportunities into signed, closed-won business. You'll work mainly with qualified leads, supporting each opportunity as it advances through the sales process, working hand-in-hand with marketing, sales development, and customer success to keep a healthy pipeline moving. Your core mandate, though, is clear: close deals, hit quota, and do it predictably, quarter after quarter.
Why This Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into a senior closing seat at an exciting moment β a growing pipeline, real momentum in the renewable energy market, and a compensation structure built to reward the person who actually gets deals across the line. Your focus is the close: you'll take the lead on negotiation, deal structure, and getting signatures, with the autonomy to run your opportunities your way. Alongside that, you'll support qualified opportunities as they advance through the sales process, helping shape and strengthen them along the way rather than only picking them up once they're already at the finish line. If you're the kind of closer who thrives on the final stretch, wants uncapped upside tied directly to your results, and wants to build a career in one of the fastest-moving sectors in energy, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
β Own the closing motion for a defined book of qualified opportunities β supporting each deal as it advances through the sales process, then leading the final proposal, negotiation, contract, and signature to close it out.
β Run a disciplined, forecastable close motion: qualify urgency and budget, manage multi-stakeholder deals, and control the timeline instead of chasing it.
β Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract details directly with senior buyers and procurement, protecting margin while removing friction to "yes."
β Partner with SDRs, account executives, and marketing to keep qualified opportunities moving steadily through the pipeline toward close.
β Maintain accurate, up-to-date forecasts and pipeline data in the CRM, and give leadership reliable visibility into what will close and when.
β Identify and resolve the objections, internal blockers, or competitive pressure that stall deals, and know when to escalate versus close independently.
β Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly closed-won revenue targets.
β Act as a mentor to junior sales team members on closing technique, negotiation, and deal strategy.
β Represent the voice of the customer internally, feeding win/loss insight back to product, marketing, and leadership.
What We're Looking For
Required
β 10+ years in a quota-carrying sales role, with a track record of consistently meeting or beating closing targets.
β Experience selling within the renewable energy industry.
β Demonstrated skill in negotiation and deal structuring, including with senior stakeholders and procurement teams.
β Strong command of a modern sales process and CRM discipline.
β Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to manage difficult conversations and hold firm on value.
β A self-directed, accountable operating style β comfortable owning a number and reporting on it transparently.
β Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Ideal
β Background in the biogas / renewable natural gas (RNG) industry.
β Experience selling SaaS.
β Existing network of relationships among organizations that own or operate biogas assets (e.g., producers, asset operators, or portfolio owners with multiple sites).
β Familiarity with the revenue streams that make biogas assets valuable, and how they factor into a customer's case for buying the software.
β Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes with varied approval workflows β especially relevant when selling into organizations managing multiple biogas sites across different business units or operations teams.
β Experience selling to industrial, utility, or energy companies.
β Technical background in biogas or anaerobic digestion operations is considered an asset.
What Success Looks Like
β Consistent quarter-over-quarter attainment of closed-won revenue targets.
β A forecast that reliably matches actual results, quarter after quarter.
β Shortened average deal-cycle time in the final (negotiation-to-signature) stage.
β Strong, referenceable relationships with closed customers that support renewals and expansion.
