Dahlia Recruitment - Renewables are partnered with a growing Engineering Consultancy looking to recruit for a 2D CAD Engineer to join the team and help deliver innovative gas engineering solutions. This role will involve producing detailed technical drawings to support Process, E&I, C&I, and Mechanical Engineers across a range of projects, including analyser and sample systems, control racks, site layouts, innovation and R&D projects (internal and on behalf of global partners), pressure reduction skids, gas quality skids, and biomethane injection systems.
If you have experience creating 2D drawings for gas industry projects and are familiar with pressure and flow control systems, as well as electrical drawings like line diagrams and cable schedules, this could be the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities- Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings for process, mechanical, E&I, and C&I systems.
- Produce electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and termination diagrams.
- Create P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Collaborate with E&I engineers to ensure electrical designs meet project specifications and comply with UK gas industry standards.
- Work with the R&D team to support innovative product development.
- Ensure all drawings comply with regulatory standards.
- Work with suppliers to incorporate vendor equipment into designs.
- Manage drawing revisions and maintain document control processes.
- Work both independently and in partnership with the engineering team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of drawings.
- Participate in design reviews, providing input on drawing accuracy and functionality.
- Proven experience producing 2D CAD drawings for gas industry projects.
- Strong knowledge of process equipment layouts, pipeline systems, and pressure control skids.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software (P&ID and Electrical a huge plus).
- Experience creating electrical drawings, including line diagrams, cable schedules, wiring schematics, and termination diagrams.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as TD/13, IGEM codes, and ATEX requirements.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with engineers, suppliers, and clients.
- Experience managing drawing revisions and document control processes.
