Dahlia Recruitment Renewables are partnered with a European specialty gas company to recruit for an experienced Business Development Manager position. This is a remote role covering the UK and will require some EU travel. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities and managing key customer accounts within the Compressed Gas (High Pressure) sector. While experience with LPG and Refrigerant gases is beneficial, the primary responsibility is to support and grow a portfolio of customers predominantly operating in compressed gas applications.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical understanding with commercial acumen to strengthen market presence, win new business, and deliver tailored solutions across industrial and high-pressure gas markets.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the company footprint across the UK and Ireland, with a strong emphasis on high-pressure valves, regulators, and associated gas equipment technologies. This is a field-based role (typically 3–4 days travel per week) with an office base in Derby and you would be expected to attend meetings here approximately 2 days a month. You will be responsible for both business development and active management of an existing customer account portfolio—the majority of which operate in the compressed gas sector, with only a small number of key LPG accounts. Your mission: drive growth, deepen customer relationships, and develop high-pressure gas solutions that meet evolving market needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Identify and secure new opportunities across the compressed gas market.
- Develop UK strategic plan to penetrate key sectors identified for product lines of business within the company business plan.
- Promote the company product range including valves, regulators and related gas equipment.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to create technical and commercial proposals tailored to customer requirements.
- Account Management
- Manage and grow a defined portfolio of compressed gas customer accounts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all account needs, ensuring long-term satisfaction and partnership.
- Maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in gas distribution, cylinder filling plants, industrial engineering, and related sectors.
- Monitor account performance, profitability, and growth opportunities; implement corrective actions when required.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to deliver customised solutions and support new product introductions.
- Provide market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to the wider business.
Who We’re Looking For

- 5+ years in technical sales, business development, or key account management.
- Strong understanding of valves, regulators and gas equipment, safety standards, and gas handling requirements.
- Demonstrable track record of winning new business and driving growth.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Technical background—ideally Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proactive, self-driven, and resilient in a competitive market.
Nice to Have
