We are looking for an experienced and motivated
Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop in Warrington.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automotive or commercial vehicle professional to manage a skilled team, drive workshop performance, and ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 6.00 pm, i. e. 45 hours per week, 30 minutes lunch break (unpaid).
Salary
Dependent on experience (will be discussed at interview stage).
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the workshop, ensuring efficient scheduling and utilisation of technicians.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of technicians, apprentices and workshop support staff.
- Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency and performance against key targets.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed to manufacturer and company standards.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop best practices.
- Work closely with the Service Department to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Monitor work in progress and ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales.
- Manage workshop quality control and resolve technical issues where required.
- Support recruitment, training and performance management of workshop employees.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop performance and customer satisfaction.
Ideally, we are looking for
- Previous experience as a Workshop Manager, Service Manager or Senior Workshop Controller within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- A proven track record of improving workshop performance and achieving operational targets.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive, positive and hands‑on approach.
- A full UK driving licence (HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential).
