Due to a year of substantial growth, we currently have an exciting opening for you to join our highly skilled and collaborative team as a Fleet Operations Manager in our DAF Fleet Services organisation in Devizes. We are part of one of the largest and most respected DAF dealer groups in Europe and DAF are the largest truck manufacturer in the UK with record growth and award winning trucks year on year. We offer our clients bespoke Fleet Management Solutions to improve their operations and allow them to focus on their business requirements. We are a key provider of customer service and innovation to build DAF’s service offering today into the future in an exciting, dynamic and changing industry.

As a Fleet Operations Manager, we can offer you:

  • Base salary of £55,000 (depending on your experience)
  • Annual 10% management bonus based on personal, team and business objectives

  • Excellent DAF Fleet Operations Manager development opportunities – in house and manufacturer’s in addition to Ford placing strong emphasis on data analysis, cost optimisation and identifying trends to improve fleet reliability and reduce operational spend.

You will play a key role in driving efficiency through insight led decision making while ensuring customer service and maintaining our good supplier relationships. Ideally, you will have the following skills / experience but on-boarding and pragmatic approach to growth provided:

  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance, transport operations or fleet management
  • Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable experience in cost control and budget management
  • Customer first ethos with drive to provide high levels of engagement and team working
  • Robust analytical skills with experience of interpreting operational and financial data
  • Ability to identify trends, root causes and implement data driven solutions
  • Effective leadership and stakeholder management through positive influencing
  • Proven track record of managing a team
  • Have a can do attitude and enjoy troubleshooting
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbally
  • Be organised, resilient and have the ability to drive a team in the same manner

The Fleet Operations Manager role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Oversee maintenance operations for a fleet of HGVs, LCVs and trailers
  • Manage maintenance spend with a strong focus on cost control, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Ensure a customer first approach is at the forefront of all commercial decisions
  • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team by setting clear goals, fostering accountability and creating a collaborative results driven culture
  • Identify failure patterns and implement preventative measures to reduce repeat defects, breakdowns and unnecessary expenditure
  • Manage relationships with third party maintenance providers and suppliers
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction and asset longevity
  • Collaborate and influence other departments to minimise fleet downtime

Working Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.
