About the Role
We\’re looking for a Freelance Social Media Manager I Strategist in New York who gets that good social media is really about telling stories. You\’ll help us create content for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Substack, and YouTube. This is freelance work with flexible hours perfect if you love storytelling and want the freedom to do your best work.
What You\’ll Do
- Create social media strategies that tell good stories
- Plan and schedule content for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Substack, and YouTube
- Manage content calendars and posting schedules
- Work with our creative team to shape ideas into social content (our designers and writers will create the actual posts)
- Keep up with what\’s happening online and find ways to join the conversation
- Look at what\’s working (and what\’s not) and adjust accordingly
- Engage with our followers and build real relationships
- Keep our voice consistent everywhere
- Coordinate content across all platforms
What We\’re Looking For
Must Have:
- 3+ years doing social media strategy and management
- Experience working with beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or hospitality brands
- You know how to build a content strategy and see it through
- You understand Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Substack and how they work
- Strong strategic thinking—you can spot opportunities and plan ahead
- You understand platform trends and audience behavior
- You can use social media scheduling tools and read analytics
- Experience managing social accounts and community engagement
- You\’ve worked with creative teams before (you\’ll be directing, not creating)
- You\’re based in London, UK (mostly remote, but you can meet up sometimes)
Nice to Have:
- Creative Agency experience
- Experience managing multiple client accounts
- You\’ve worked with content creators and know how to brief them
- Background in marketing, communications, or brand strategy
- Experience with influencer partnerships or collaboration
