About the Role

Our client is a leading global manufacturer of professional cutting tools and accessories serving the forestry and outdoor power equipment industries. This Business Development Manager role focuses on driving sales growth and market expansion across Indonesia (70%) and the Philippines (30%), managing distributor relationships and developing key accounts within the forestry and professional cutting segments. This is an excellent opportunity to lead business development in high-growth Southeast Asian markets while working with industry-leading cutting tool technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive annual sales, margin, and market share targets for saw chain and guide bars across assigned territories.
  • Manage and develop appointed distributors and dealers, ensuring alignment with company policies and conducting regular business reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with key forestry companies, contractors, government bodies, and large end users to support major tenders and project-based sales.
  • Execute territory sales plans and identify growth opportunities in forestry, logging, plantation, and arborist cutting applications.
  • Deliver product and application training to distributor sales teams and key customers on cutting tools and accessories.
  • Support new product launches, trade events, demonstrations, and industry field trips while gathering market feedback and competitive insights.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM updates, and territory reports while monitoring inventory health and demand planning.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial policies, contracts, and ethical business standards across all business activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of sales and business development experience in forestry, outdoor power equipment, industrial tools, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience managing distributors or indirect sales channels in Southeast Asia.
  • Strong technical and application-based selling capabilities with excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages will be a bonus but not mandatory, as you will be liaising with regional stakeholders and clients in SEA markets.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Indonesia and the Philippines.
