The role is responsible for proactively promoting DACS’ licensing services and the work of DACS members to existing and prospective customers, key accounts and external partners.

Duration: Permanent

Reports to: Account Manager

Location: Hybrid home working and from the London office at least once a week.

Hours: 35 per week (FTE 1.00)

Line management responsibility: None

About the role

You will manage, generate and convert licensing enquiries, develop strong client relationships, negotiate commercially effective licensing arrangements and act as a professional, approachable and confident representative of DACS. Working closely with copyright owners and international sister societies, you will help generate income to meet or exceed agreed targets, identify new opportunities for growth and contribute to the continued development of a high-quality, outward-facing licensing service.

Department

The Licensing Team at DACS manages the reproduction and use of artists’ works by acting as a trusted intermediary between rightsholders and those seeking permission to use artworks. The team handles the process from initial proposal through to negotiating fees, securing permissions, and issuing license agreements and invoices, working with a wide range of clients including publishers, museums, galleries, auction houses, broadcasters, advertisers and merchandise producers. Through attendance and representation at industry events and conferences, the team builds awareness of the copyright licensing process and the commercial opportunities available to both artists and those seeking to use their work.
