The predicted salary is between 37700 - 44000 ÂŁ per year.

The successful applicant must be able to start working within 3 months of receiving the conditional offer of employment. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

To undertake duties governed by the contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services comprising a variety of duties, including face‐to‐face surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‐referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health.
  • Provide counselling and health education.
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Administration – dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters, tasks, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Compile and issue computer‐generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
  • Cover all the clinical management of patients in surgery, initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or other providers as appropriate.
  • Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols and NICE guidance.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Completion of Certificate of Training (CCT) in GP dated within the last 2 years.
  • No substantive post held (i.e., salaried role) within the last 12 months.
  • Performers List registered.
  • Must have indefinite right to work in the UK.

The General Medical Practitioner must not be:

  • A. Prohibited from performing any such service by regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013.
  • B. Suspended from the list of medical practitioners maintained and published by NHS England in accordance with section 91 of the NHS Act 2006 or from the registers kept under section 2 of the Medical Act 1983.
  • C. Subject to interim suspension under 41A of the Medical Act 1983.

DHPL does not have Home Office sponsorship status. This means that we are unable to provide any assistance with visas and all applicants/employees must have indefinite right to work in the UK in order to qualify for the job roles we offer.

Desirable Skills
