We have a vacancy for a Supported Housing Officer, and we are looking for individuals with a genuine interest in the welfare of older people to work at our Supported Housing Schemes, and a patch of properties in the community.
The post holder will maintain regular one to one contact with tenants who are typically over the age of 60, empowering them to live independently by providing assistance and advice, ensuring needs are identified and met, dealing with emergencies as they arise and liaising with other service providers.
You will be using your initiative, resolving day-to-day issues, mainly working at sites alone (although working within guidelines) where you will have your own designated office. There will be regular meetings with your line manager plus contact with other members of the team on a daily basis. This can be a rewarding and sociable role and you will also be part of a friendly and supportive team.
You must be able to relate to people at all levels, including those with complex needs, and have excellent, diplomatic and clear communication skills. You must be able to maintain accurate computerised records and write clear and concise reports in accordance with our policies and procedures, plus maintain confidentiality at all times. You must be able to remain effective and calm if emergencies arise.

A Standard or Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
