The Revenues and Benefits Service provides the statutory functions of collecting Council Tax and Business Rates, alongside administering applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Join the Revenues and Benefits Team to deliver an excellent service to local residents and businesses.
  • Utilise good communication skills with a wide range of people, using both written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrate patience with customers and good listening skills to resolve residents’ queries.
  • Complete tasks in a pressurised environment and work with little supervision.
  • Process Housing Benefit applications, Council Tax Support applications, and collect Council Tax and Business Rates.

Qualifications and Checks

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but applications from candidates with transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn are welcome.
  • A Standard check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
