We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Officer to join our Rent and Income team. This is a key role in supporting the Council's financial stability while delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to residents.
As Lead Officer, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a team of Income Officers, driving performance, maintaining high standards, and ensuring excellent service delivery. You will play a central role in maximising rent collection and reducing arrears, through the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures and systems.
You’ll also contribute to shaping and improving the service - developing policies, refining processes, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support residents and sustain tenancies.
We're looking for a confident and organised leader with strong experience in rent recovery and welfare benefits, ideally within a social housing environment. You’ll be comfortable managing complex cases with professionalism and empathy, while keeping a clear focus on performance and outcomes.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with colleagues, residents and partners. You’ll be target-driven, proactive, and committed to delivering an efficient and customer-focused income service.
An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions. Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK.
