We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated individual to join our Safe Homes Team, supporting a critical service area focused on building safety and statutory compliance. Our team is responsible for ensuring the safety of residents across a range of compliance areas, including fire safety, heating and hot water systems, electrical safety, lifts, water hygiene and asbestos management.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of this fast‑paced service. This will include coordinating inspection programmes, managing compliance records, handling data returns, supporting complaint responses, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete and readily accessible. Your work will directly contribute to keeping our buildings safe and compliant.
Your primary area of responsibility will be supporting the management of both domestic and commercial heating compliance, working closely with our Heating and Renewables Manager to ensure all statutory servicing, inspections and remedial works are effectively coordinated and monitored. Whilst heating compliance will be your core focus, this role also offers the exciting opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of building compliance, including fire safety, electrical safety, water hygiene, lifts and asbestos management, providing excellent exposure to the wider compliance profession.
We are looking for someone with strong administrative and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Previous experience or an understanding of heating compliance, property maintenance or a related field would be advantageous, although technical qualifications are not essential. You will need to be confident working with data and systems, and comfortable liaising with colleagues, residents and contractors in a professional and approachable manner.
This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of accuracy in a compliance environment, and is motivated by making a tangible difference to resident safety. This is also an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the growing field of building safety and compliance.
We are committed to developing our people, and this role offers a clear pathway to expand your knowledge and progress into more technical or operational roles within the service over time. If you are proactive, adaptable, and want to be part of a team where your contribution has a real and visible impact, we would welcome your application.
A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions. The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.
