We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Planning Enforcement Team within Dacorum Borough. The Borough is easily accessible from the M1, M25 and the A41 and encompasses commercial, urban, rural, Green Belt and AONB areas, offering a wide range of planning control breaches to manage.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced candidate to join our growing Development Management service. You will be a motivated and proactive individual, responsible for ensuring high standards and working within a small, collaborative team.

Responsibilities:
  • Use your knowledge of Planning Enforcement to investigate and resolve breaches of Planning Control, including unauthorised works on listed buildings and protected trees.
  • Advise the Assistant Director, Head of Service, Manager and senior management on the allocated service.
  • Collate and assess harm and expediency studies, ensuring appropriate compliance advice is provided to customers.
  • Work in collaboration with other services and senior management to integrate services and align with the Council’s aims and objectives.
  • Provide support to management functions and complex case handling.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant level of qualification and experience in Planning Enforcement.
  • Valid UK driving licence and frequent access to a vehicle or transport for urban and rural visits, sometimes on short notice.
