An exciting digital improvement programme is underway at Dacorum. Our overarching aim is to enable customers to interact seamlessly with the council. This programme is also about improving the digital experience, providing employees with the tools and digital skills needed in a modern workplace, and making it easier for us all to do our jobs.

To support the programme, we have a Digital, Data and Technology Team, creating opportunities for technical experts to make a real difference to the way that Dacorum Borough Council delivers services to its communities.

Role Overview

As a Digital Officer, you will play a key role in our digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyse, and develop robust end-to-end digital processes and services.
  • Work closely with various Council services and partners to ensure that new digital services meet the needs of our customers and staff.

Requirements

  • Basic check with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.

Work Environment

Role will be part of the Digital, Data and Technology Team, creating opportunities for technical experts to make a real difference to the way that Dacorum Borough Council delivers services to its communities.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. During this transition, if you join Dacorum Borough Council between now and 31 March 2028, you will move to a new organisation on 1 April 2028. Your role will transfer to the new authority, but the way you work and who you report to may change. While this may be different from what you are used to, it is also a rare and exciting opportunity to join Dacorum at a time of real change. You will have the chance to help shape the future of local services and be part of building something new. The new unitary councils will create opportunities for innovation, growth, and better public services, offering a more joined-up and forward-looking working environment for employees.
