Responsibilities
- You will be required to successfully manage your team and work with contractors to ensure work is being completed to a satisfactory standard.
- You will work with colleagues across the Housing Service to identify empty homes suitable for adaptation and make reasonable adjustments by way of adaptation to meet the recommendations of the Occupational Referral, ensuring delivery is within the agreed timescales and budget provisions.
- The ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues and contractors is required, as well as tact, diplomacy, ability to negotiate and achieve defined performance targets.
- You will have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Assist in the management of complex customer complaint resolutions and manage their expectations.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK, and use of a car to enable site visits.
- A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for this vacancy within the Property Service Planned and Adaptations team.
- You will be required to manage a small team of surveyors and admin staff to deliver Major and Minor adaptations to the council housing stock.
- Budget monitoring and adhering to the councils' policies and procedures are essential to successful delivery of adaptations.
- Experience of delivering adaptations to occupied and void properties is desirable including knowledge of the Equalities Act 2010, CDM 2015 and Building Regulations.
