Purpose Of the Role

To coordinate the cost-effective planning and execution of deliveries and collections within the Short Distance network, ensuring high levels of customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance.

The role is also responsible for completing all associated administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan delivery and collection routes for the following day, including arranging specialist vehicles when required.
  • Liaise with local haulier fleets to book vehicles for next-day operations.
  • Conduct driver debriefs upon return from routes.
  • Manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and other operational data throughout the shift.
  • Complete administration for next-day deliveries using the DOMINO system.
  • Manage Short Distance driver and vehicle schedules and monitor arrivals.
  • Support Short Distance dispatch operations.
  • Carry out driver, vehicle and handheld device audits as required.
  • Create next-day collection disposals.
  • Support the Warehouse and Short Distance Planning teams with fleet discrepancies, load planning amendments and additional requirements.
  • Manage Euro Inbound arrivals, including associated administration and communication with sending branches regarding late arrivals.
  • Monitor Entargo product control reports to ensure all freight is dispatched daily.
  • Administer and monitor inbound operations using DACHSER systems and tools, including DOMINO, Active Report, Vehicle Localisation, Collection Dispo, SDP and Geocoding.
