Responsibilities
- Supervise the import customs team in a fast‑paced environment
- Manage daily import operations in the absence of the Import Customs Manager
- Provide effective customs solutions to meet service and operational deadlines
- Review and improve processes without compromising quality
- Allocate tasks and oversee daily declaration management
- Produce and monitor KPIs to ensure targets are achieved
- Support the team with day‑to‑day issues and queries
- Ensure smooth handovers between shifts
- Maintain compliance with Customs, AEO, and SOP requirements
- Work closely with internal teams, external customers, and customs authorities (HMRC, Border Force, DEFRA)
- Liaise with Head Office in Kempten on customs matters when required
- Promote DACHSER values and support staff coaching, integration, and performance
- Manage absence records and contribute to appraisals
