Salary: £27,500 – £30,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Removal Porter to join our removals and logistics team. The successful candidate will assist in the packing, loading, transporting, and unloading of furniture and other goods for residential and commercial moves. This role requires teamwork, good customer service skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and physical activity throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently pack, wrap, and load customers\’ belongings onto removal vehicles.
  • Unload goods at the destination and place items as directed by the client or supervisor.
  • Assist in dismantling and reassembling furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Use protective materials and packing techniques to prevent damage to goods.
  • Handle fragile and valuable items with care and attention.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth, timely moves.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of removal vehicles and equipment.
  • Report any damages or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Physical fitness – able to lift and carry heavy items safely.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Experience in removals or manual handling is preferred but not essential (training can be provided).
  • Ability to work flexible hours (Weekends are very rare)
  • Punctual and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of packing techniques or moving fragile/valuable goods.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Forklift or tail lift experience (for warehouse or vehicle loading roles).

Working Conditions:

  • Work is physically demanding and involves standing, walking, lifting, and carrying for extended periods.
  • Work may take place in varied weather conditions and locations.
  • Occasional long hours, travel, and overnight stays may be required depending on job locations.
