An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee to join our busy real estate team based in Glasgow. The role is a two-year placement within our Scottish real estate team, primarily focused on telecoms, with opportunities to collaborate with real estate colleagues across the UK on nationwide projects. Our real estate department handles all aspects of transactional and contentious commercial real estate work, including telecoms, development, investment, asset management, construction, and landlord/tenant work. Our clients include telecoms operators, property management and development companies, house builders, health trusts, government bodies (local and central), owner-occupiers, and institutions both in the UK and overseas. With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, we are expanding our Scottish services, providing seamless cross-border support for our clients backed by national and international resources from across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Our Trainees appreciate our collaborative working environment, which reflects our open door policy and core principles of support, creativity, determination, and clarity.
  • There are many networking opportunities with other Trainees and colleagues across the firm, as well as involvement in wider projects and initiatives.
  • The role will mainly involve Scottish real estate telecoms work, primarily transactional, with opportunities to engage in litigation.
  • Responsibilities include landlord/tenant asset management, drafting and negotiating lease documents with team support, and managing client reporting.

Prior knowledge of Scottish property law or experience in real estate, especially telecoms, is beneficial but not essential. A genuine interest in real estate and a client-focused attitude are expected.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Applicants should have a minimum 2:1 degree, energy, and ambition.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Interest in learning real estate law relevant to the role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to follow structured processes within set parameters.
  • Team-oriented mindset, willing to share knowledge and support colleagues.
  • Ability to adopt a commercial perspective.
  • Experience working in a law firm in a paralegal or administrative role, aiming for qualification.
  • Completion of the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
