Do you want to develop your career as a professional disciplinary specialist, handling a varied caseload with client access and the opportunity to develop business? Do you have experience of acting for professionals and want to broaden your experience in this area? If so, we have an opportunity in our market-leading Professional and Commercial Risk team which may be for you. We work collaboratively across our teams. While team members are encouraged to develop particular areas of expertise—such as solicitors' defence—we actively promote cross-team working. This allows colleagues to benefit from a broad range of work and to apply their expertise creatively in delivering effective solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have the opportunity to interact on a regular basis with clients;
  • Have responsibility for the day to day conduct of complex and high value cases, including Pre-Action and High Court litigation, with the ability to shape and implement strategy;
  • Resolve cases using all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution for example mediation;
  • Have the opportunity to become involved in fast-paced and often high-profile work, including defending Court proceedings and proceedings at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal;
  • Draft complex advice for insurers and other clients, including in relation to matters such as policy coverage.

The ideal candidate will have experience in defending professionals and have a desire to broaden their experience into the defence of civil claims against solicitors.
