Overview
In this role you will handle a busy caseload of property recovery claims within DAC Beachcroft’s Property Recoveries team. You will work on pre-litigated and litigated matters arising from perils such as fire, flood and escape of water, and progress cases through to trial where appropriate. You’ll develop technical knowledge in insurance property damage recoveries while collaborating with a supportive firm culture. The position offers progression, exposure to larger matters, and opportunities to contribute to business development. You will operate in a client-focused, results-driven environment with a strong emphasis on service and integrity.

Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated property recovery claims
- Investigate liability on perils including escape of water, flooding, fire and impact damage
- Negotiate quantum and settlements with third parties
- Obtain witness statements and key documentation; draft letters of claim
- Issue proceedings and manage disclosure; instruct Counsel and experts
- Progress claims through to trial and assist on larger/complex matters
- Support marketing and business development activities
- Maintain data security and comply with client/internal protocols on billing and credit control
- Meet performance targets (minimum 1,440 chargeable hours annually)
- Engage in client-facing activities and networking to build the business and professional profile
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with Litigation Rights, or substantial pre-qualification experience
- Interest in developing expertise in insurance property damage recoveries and related contract/tort law
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and intermediaries
- Ability to analyse factual evidence, identify legal issues and apply reasoning
