Due to continued growth driven by strong client relationships and recent client wins, DAC Beachcroft’s Casualty Injury (EL/PL) team is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), with 4+ years’ PQE, to join our expanding team. We welcome applications from lawyers with a range of litigation backgrounds. Prior defendant experience is not essential, and we would be pleased to consider candidates with Claimant, clinical negligence or in-house litigation experience who are keen to transition into this area of work.
Our Casualty Injury team specialises in employers’ liability and public liability claims, handling matters across the full range of values and complexities. You will be joining a collaborative, inclusive and genuinely supportive team, with structured and ongoing training provided to support your success in the role. The position offers exposure to a varied and high-quality EL/PL caseload, with the opportunity to play a key role in achieving positive outcomes and delivering tangible value for our clients.
As part of the team, you will continue to develop your technical expertise in EL/PL personal injury work, strengthen your organisational and time‑management skills, and build strong professional relationships across the firm and the wider legal and insurance market.
What you will do?
- Manage your own caseload of multi‑track EL/PL claims.
- Take on a supervisory role, supporting and overseeing a small team of Paralegals handling volume litigated EL/PL claims.
- Conduct technical supervision and oversight of EL/PL claims.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the development of team members.
- Provide absence management and pastoral support of the Paralegal team.
- Monitor team financial performance and ensure targets are met.
- Ensure files are progressed proactively and efficiently to conclusion.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, demonstrating appropriate technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives, including client training, marketing events, clinics and shadowing opportunities.
Who you are
- A qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally looking to take the next step into supervision and people management.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable but not essential; full support and training will be provided.
- A strong team player who enjoys supporting and developing junior colleagues.
- Experienced in handling a personal injury or litigation caseload, including EL/PL or similar work types.
- Proactive and confident in contributing ideas to support continuous improvement.
- Highly compliant with client SLAs, protocols and KPIs.
- IT‑literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
- Analytical, with the ability to review evidence critically and identify issues or anomalies.
