About the role
As a Legal Secretary, you’ll act as a trusted partner to your lawyers – helping to manage workflows, anticipate needs, and ensure that everything runs efficiently behind the scenes. You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider team, supporting colleagues across different practice areas and building strong working relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact – keeping work moving and ensuring deadlines are met
- Manage inboxes, prioritise communications, and draft responses where appropriate
- Prepare and produce high‑quality documents, correspondence and reports
- Support document production, including digital dictation and formatting
- Organise case files, maintain accurate records and manage document systems
- Coordinate meetings, diaries and travel arrangements
- Prepare and maintain document bundles and case‑related materials
- Build strong relationships with lawyers, clients and internal teams
- Support client‑related activity, including reports, events and communications
- Ensure client protocols and service standards are consistently met
- Assist with billing processes, expense submissions and financial administration
- Support WIP management, disbursements and finance queries
- Help to maintain accurate records and reporting where required
- Collaborate with colleagues and provide support across teams when needed
- Contribute to a high‑performing, responsive team environment
- Handle confidential information with care and work within compliance frameworks

Level: Suitable for candidates with prior Legal Secretary or comparable professional services experience
