Department: Real Estate - Portfolio Management
This role is part of the Portfolio Management team, a well-established national team of junior fee‑earners who support our national Real Estate group. Our Real Estate group covers every aspect of commercial real estate work, including development, investment, asset management, funding, construction, landlord and tenant, planning, environmental, and dispute resolution. Clients include property management and development companies, health trusts and government bodies (local and central), owner occupiers and institutions, both in the UK and overseas. The team also has a proven record in paralegal progression. We value the Portfolio Management team as an incubation hub for future talent and have seen four former paralegals formally qualify as solicitors in the last 12 months with the assistance of professional development funding and mentoring from within the team and wider group.
Key Responsibilities
The Paralegal opportunity is a highly varied role that allows you to work across the national Real Estate group. You will own your own files and interact with clients. Your work will include preparing title and lease reports, legal forms, land registry and SDLT/LBTT documents, break notices, simple planning documents, lease and other land & tenant documentation drafting and negotiation, as well as general assistance to fee earners on a variety of client matters.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent academics including a 2.1 degree or better.
- A genuine interest in law and property.
- Experience in commercial property is not essential but would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to produce work to a high standard.
- Confidence in building strong relationships with clients (internal and external) and third‑party contacts at all levels.
- Must be flexible, organised, and self‑motivated team player who can work within the team to achieve common goals.
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet required deadlines.
