Overview
In this role you will support the Commercial Disputes and International Arbitration group by shaping knowledge management, training and external visibility. You will collaborate with Clients & Markets, advise on legal developments, and lead or support thought leadership and training initiatives. You’ll provide technical legal input, enable efficient knowledge sharing through AI and tech, and mentor junior colleagues. This position offers impact across client service, innovation, and cross-practice collaboration within a leading international law firm.
Responsibilities
- Support key marketing and business development initiatives leveraging legal expertise and thought leadership
- Collaborate with Clients & Markets to raise the group’s profile and client relationships
- Identify relevant legal and procedural developments in commercial disputes and arbitration with Knowledge team
- Lead or support thought leadership activities (articles, talks, newsletters, podcasts)
- Review legal reform consultations and assess implications for clients
- Provide technical legal support and act as a sounding board on complex issues
- Deliver training for Commercial Disputes lawyers in collaboration with Talent & Development and Knowledge Management
- Assist the group with AI, innovation and technology to enhance efficiency and client service
- Mentor and supervise junior colleagues
- Promote a culture of excellence and effective working practices
Key requirements
- England and Wales qualified Lawyer with ~5+ years’ PQE in complex commercial disputes
- Strong understanding of commercial litigation, arbitration and ADR mechanisms
- Strong technical knowledge of English law and procedure, including costs and funding rules
- Excellent drafting, analytical, communication, data management and IT skills
- Experience in a PSL/Knowledge Lawyer role or comparable role would be ideal
- Experience developing and delivering legal training programmes
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with ability to engage across practices and business services teams
