Description

DAC Beachcroft is growing its global insurance offering, and our New York team is hiring an Associate to grow with it.
The team advises domestic and global insurers and their insureds across a wide range of insurance classes. The main focus is contingency and event cancellation coverage advice, and personal injury litigation and defense. We’re part of one of the largest insurance practices of any law firm, and we’re building the firm of choice for the global insurance sector.
You’ll join a team of 8 attorneys in a full-time, permanent position. Expect a varied caseload, direct contact with clients and close work with senior attorneys. The team is collaborative and positive, gives you real autonomy and takes work/life balance seriously.
If you want to make an impact in a growing US team, we’d like to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Manage your own caseload and support Partners and colleagues on personal injury and other defendant insurance litigation matters.
  • Apply legal principles to the facts and build sound, commercial strategies for medium and high value cases, including potential policy coverage issues.
  • Depose all relevant parties in litigation
  • Draft and review correspondence, reports and litigation documents.
  • Keep your files organized and in line with client quality and service level requirements.
  • Learn your clients' businesses and how they fit with ours.

What you'll bring

  • New York Bar admission, ideally with 2 to 3 years’ experience in pre-litigation and litigation, and strong deposition skills.
  • The ability to run your own caseload independently.
  • A strong academic record.
  • Sound analysis of complex facts, aimed at a commercial resolution for the client.
  • Confidence dealing with clients on day-to-day issues.
  • Calm, quick decision making
  • A team player who shares knowledge and supports colleagues.
