Overview
In this role you support the growth of our Bristol-based professional indemnity team by defending high-value, complex claims in the financial professionals line. You will act as a key contact for insurer clients, coordinate with partners and fee-earners on pre-action and litigation matters, and help deliver strong outcomes for clients. You’ll work with specialists across insurers, experts, and counsel, while contributing to client development and knowledge sharing within the team. Responsibilities
- Manage pre-action andLitigated matters under supervision
- Advise insurers on coverage across various policies and issues
- Interact with clients and liaise with experts and counsel
- Coordinate disclosure exercises and draft witness statements
- Act as primary client contact and uphold insurer protocols and SLAs
- Support marketing and business development, including writing articles and training clients
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through CPD and publications
- Ensure billing and credit control compliance per DAC Beachcroft protocols
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 0–4 PQE
- Experience with professional indemnity claims and coverage issues (desirable)
- Interest in financial professional claims and related technical issues
- Strong numeracy and interest in financial/tax matters
- Solid academic record (degree and CPE/LPC or equivalent)
- Excellent client handling and relationship skills
- Self-sufficient with awareness of competence boundaries
- Client-focused, commercially minded with quick on-the-job learning
- Flexible and change-oriented; team player capable of sharing knowledge
