As an Early Talent Attraction Assistant, you will support the recruitment and onboarding of our early career talent, including Paralegals, Claims Handlers, Apprentices, Trainees and Pupils. Working closely with the Early Talent Attraction Advisor, you’ll help with the day‑to‑day coordination of recruitment activity, assessment centres and onboarding, while acting as a friendly and professional point of contact for candidates and internal colleagues.
We are looking for a Talent Attraction Assistant to join us on a 6 month fixed term basis and the role will play an important part in ensuring candidates have a positive, inclusive and well‑organised experience throughout their journey with us. The role can be based in Birmingham or Newport, with some travel to assessment centres and careers events across the UK. We work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum requirement to attend the office 2–3 times per month to support assessment centres and team meetings, subject to business needs. Beyond this, there is flexibility to attend the office more frequently if desired. During the initial induction period, the successful candidate may be expected to attend the office more regularly.
What you will do
- Assist the Early Talent Attraction Advisor with recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews, reviewing applications and supporting pre‑screening calls
- Help coordinate assessment centres, including preparation, welcoming candidates and supporting the smooth running of the day
- Support recruitment campaigns for trainee solicitors, apprentices and pupillage programmes
- Assist with onboarding new colleagues, including pre‑employment checks, right‑to‑work checks and setting up access to systems
- Act as a first point of contact for early talent enquiries, helping to manage and respond to inbox queries from candidates and colleagues
- Support relationships with schools, colleges and universities, including careers events and fairs
- Work with hiring managers and the wider People team to support recruitment activity
- Help with general administration, project work and improvements to recruitment and onboarding processes
- Ensure all activity is carried out professionally, inclusively and in line with GDPR and employment law
