We are looking for a Claims Handler to join our market leading, lawyer led claims handling service in our CSG team. This role will be situated in Leeds, you will be required to come into the office 5 times a week during your probation period, then on a flexible hybrid pattern thereafter.
What you will do
- Provide a timely, professional and high-quality service to our clients in the management of claims.
- Be responsible for a varied caseload of volume work.
- Review claims assessing who is at fault and the level of compensation within authority limits.
- Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards.
- Maintain contact with our clients and their customers whilst proactively managing their expectations.
- Meet individual performance measures (financial and quality performance measures).
- Ensure that the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained.
Who you are
You do not need to have prior experience as a Claims Handler or a legal qualification in order to apply, we are happy to hear from those with customer service/retail experience and/or school leavers or graduates who are team players and have the passion for learning.
- IT skills – be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Prioritisation and organisation skills – the ability to structure your time well, prioritise work effectively and recognise when to ask for help.
- Interpersonal skills – communication skills to liaise with clients, intermediaries and colleagues on the phone and in person.
- Analytical skills – the ability to critically look at factual evidence, identify key legal arguments and apply the same.
- Commercial sense – the ability to know the principle or law but also know when it is worth pursuing it.
- Resilience – the ability to stand your ground in a telephone negotiation and to receive feedback.
- Commitment and enthusiasm – with a professional attitude.
- Aptitude to learn – the ability to retain knowledge and implement new skills showing initiative to use available resources to problem solve.
