DAC Beachcroft is looking for a Senior Associate to join our Bristol based Corporate team. The role is to lead transactional work across a portfolio of clients based in the UK and internationally, working on mergers & acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, buy‑outs, equity fundraisings and corporate advisory matters. The team serves large corporate groups, high net‑worth individuals, in‑house legal teams and clients in finance, healthcare, real estate, technology and leisure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a wide range of corporate transactions for a broad array of clients
- Act as the primary client contact, providing commercially focused legal advice on a day‑to‑day basis
- Manage matters and time pro‑actively and flexibly, including leading on larger complex matters
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ commercial drivers
- Engage with and lead on existing client relationships
- Collaborate with other DAC Beachcroft departments to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to client services
- Draft and review correspondence, advice and documents
- Provide formal supervision and mentoring to team members
- Model and maintain service quality and delivery standards at all levels
- Continuously develop core technical skills and knowledge
- Maintain matters in good organisational shape in line with the firm’s core principles, strategy and goals
- Work on high‑value and quality matters in sensitive and complex environments
- Comply with client service level agreements, protocols and processes
- Contribute to and lead the preparation and delivery of learning and development programmes
- Support and lead on client presentations, business development and marketing activities where required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years PQE, with strong experience in corporate transactions
- Strong academics, minimum 2.1 degree
- Ability to hit the ground running and handle work in a very busy team
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Capability to analyse and apply legal principles to develop technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases
- Interest in personal and business development, leading client relationships and shaping a growing team
- Demonstrated proactive financial management, including billing regimes, credit control, debt collection and accounting procedures
