Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer – Property Insurance

Description
The “Complex Property” team is part of the wider “Property” service line, which in turn sits within the firm’s “Claims Solutions Group”. The team acts for a large number of insurer clients, undertaking some of their highest value, highest profile and most challenging work. We are currently looking for new colleagues to join us either on a permanent basis or fixed term contract for 12 months
The work falls into three broad categories: (i) subrogated recovery claims (typically over ÂŁ250,000); (ii) defendant public liability property damage claims; and (iii) policy coverage both advisory work and disputes. In short, the team deals with disputes and problems arising out of fires, floods, storms, escapes of water, escapes of oil, explosions, impact damage (basically any way in which a property might become damaged).
We are currently looking for 2 new colleagues, one being permanent and one being a 12 month fixed term contract. The team will consider applications Nationwide.

- Work diligently and proactively, handling a varied workload in accordance with insurer client requirements
- Build strong, trusted relationships with insurer clients and colleagues
- Demonstrate good financial management and housekeeping on own files
- Support marketing and business development activities within the team (e.g. training/articles)
- Maintain an awareness of the firm’s core strategies and aims.
Who you are
- A qualified solicitor, CILEX Lawyer or barrister with at least six months\’ relevant experience of property insurance work
- Technically excellent with an aptitude for analysing difficult legal cases
- Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on a day to day basis, within the team’s reporting and supervisory structure
- Commercially and financially astuteTeam-orientated, and willing to share knowledge and support other members of the team and the wider firm
- Demonstrates alignment with the firm’s cultural principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive)
